It sure sounds like it. I had the exact same symptoms, but I was 50. It can be really scary and the doctor told me it wasn't perimenopause, (early symptoms that can last for years). He put me thru all kinds of tests, had me believing I was dying of cancer.
I don't understand why a gynecologist doesn't know that many women get increased heavy periods. It was all normal, and the periods stopped, and then I had menopause with the hot flashes and mood swings for ten long years.
Now they do have hormone replacement for symptoms, but I can't take any of those, so I relied on Black Cohosh, and herbal creams which do help.
But why are you perimenopause at 35? You have a functioning ovary, and I would go see a doctor to find out why it is shutting down while you are so young. Better safe than sorry.
